Mom’s Illness

As I’ve said elsewhere on the blog, none of the doctors knew how to fix my mom. From a young age I promised my mom I would become a doctor so I could figure out what was wrong and make her better. (I became a hairdresser instead.) But I spent many nights researching her symptoms on medical sites and trying to come up with things that might be it (and on more than one occasion doctors even concurred with my findings.) But yet, she still wasn’t better. So despite the fact that she’s passed on, I don’t think I’ll ever give up on trying to figure out how she became as sick as she did and what exactly it was. I am by no means a doctor, so don’t take anything I say as an official diagnosis, but I’m hoping that by sharing her symptoms other people who may have similar ones, or even people struggling with getting an accurate diagnosis, will find solace in the fact that they are not alone.
